FRANCISCO DELGADO.Lay President of Europe The construction of the secular state, from the legal and symbolic, is a huge debt we owe to democracy and the rule of law: it implies the total separation of church and state disposal of the enormous privileges that a particular confession (Catholic) enjoys a legacy of theocratic and autocratic rule. Although there are social and political differences, it is necessary, given the historical and current legislation in this area, in order to avoid confrontations and that the "judicial power" to legislate through judgments, a role that does not belong. Suffer the actions of fundamentalist groups of fanatical minority Catholics and clergy rancidity, using resources from all citizens, make policy, influence and threaten with the complicity of some political and media power. Well, despite this, the secular state we're trying to build, with great difficulty, an important part of civil-society increasingly secularized, demonstrating that we are able to live together in a rational, people of many different beliefs, but we need to support clarifying legal. These days we are living more or less intensity, some parties that are named Christmas or Easter Judeo-Christian tradition.This time "festive" and "coexistence" was considered for a long time in the Spanish State, as an exclusive symbol of religious power is mandatory to participate in Catholic rituals taxes. Even today, yet there are those who, from the public and religious, are determined to guide this respectable but erroneously particular Catholic tradition to the whole citizenry. However, you have to argue something well known: these parties are generally ancestral origin related to the days of the winter solstice, which many cultures around the globe, from worldviews divine or otherwise, long before Christianity (Greek Roman, Persian, etc. and then of Christianity, cultures like the Aztecs and others in various continents) had concluded.The historical reality is that it was the Christianity of the first centuries, who joined the celebration, in order to gain followers in ancient Rome, ranging from differently in specific countries and religious majority, especially after the Protestant Reformation XVI century. Today diversity and pluralism that we enjoy this holiday makes each the living freely, either religious (or not) or not participate in them, according to their own beliefs or social reality in which it is immersed. Although, indeed, is the market god who tries to impose their consumption over other forms of celebration, an issue that satisfies the clergy themselves, for survival. And not just for Christmas: a certain model of religious coexistence and imposed by the Church for centuries has been appropriate also to countless holiday celebrations and fairs in thousands of towns and cities of the Spanish state already existed and then were related to saint or Catholic religious mythology in each case, with the complicity of political power at times too complacent with the pomp and power at the expense of concealing religious right to freedom of conscience and belief. Among other reasons, why the confessions and their political accomplices used the term "religious freedom" as a corporate trap in order to hamper the progress of a rational culture in which the person is the sole owner of the freedom of conscience based on their own convictions.
